As a parent of two grown up daughters who both went to the U. on J1 Visas I am devastated at the loss of such wonderful talented young people.

Having worked on the J1 programme in its early years I remember well processing all those bright young faces who couldn't wait to go Stateside and enjoy a new culture for the summer.

We can't even begin to imagine the depths of despair their loved ones are experiencing, we only hope our prayers will give them the strength and courage to keep going. With heartfelt sadness, I pray for the families and friends during this difficult time they are enduring.

May they find strength and peace in knowing others around the world are praying for you especially in Berkeley CA.

It is such a dreadful tragedy - these young people just starting out on their life journeys. As a mother who currently has a son working in America for the summer, my thoughts and prayers are with all the families and friends of those lovely young people who died and were injured in the awful tragedy in Berkley.
